ONLINE WEBINAR
“Women and the Energy Transition: Challenges and Opportunities”
The energy transition represents a fundamental process for addressing climate change and achieving environmental, economic, and social sustainability. It also serves as a major driver of employment and the creation of job opportunities worldwide. However, for the energy transition to be truly just, it is essential to incorporate a gender perspective and ensure equal opportunities.
The seminar will address the gender gaps that persist in the sector, both at the international level and specifically in Spain. It will also present the main conclusions of the chapter on women and the energy transition developed within the framework of the EULAC ENERGYTRAN project, which focuses on scientific cooperation to support the energy transition in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) and the European Union (EU).
Furthermore, international initiatives promoted by global organizations, as well as specific actions in Latin America and the Caribbean, will be highlighted, along with the remaining challenges and opportunities to foster more active and equitable female participation in this strategic sector.
Target audience: Researchers and professionals interested in energy transition, open to all interested participants.
