Solar Facilities for the European Research Area – Second Phase
The EU-funded SFERA-II project set out to develop common performance testing guidelines, evaluate the necessary improvements for reaching ultra-high flux distributions, accelerate aging testing, and establish guidelines to set up new test facilities for thermal energy storage materials and system – all of which are related to concentrated solar power technologies.

Sola Facilities for the European Research Area
The EU-funded SFERA (Solar facilities for the European Research Area) project reinforced Europe's leading role in CST technologies by establishing new partnerships amongst leading research centres in diverse countries. The development of this reference European solar laboratory contributes to encourage sustainable energy supply, also securing the competitiveness of European technology suppliers in the CST field worldwide.

SOLARIZE: Empowering the Sustainability of EU-SOLARIS ERIC through Innovation and Collaboration
SOLARIZE enhances EU-SOLARIS ERIC’s sustainability by expanding membership, engaging R&D institutes, and fostering international cooperation. It focuses on training researchers, improving management, and strengthening ties between industry and CST researchers. The project promotes new standards, virtual access to R&D, integration of energy sources, and the development of greener technologies.
Energytran: Driving Clean Energy Transition in Europe and Latin America
ENERGYTRAN
Energytran, part of the EU's 'Horizon Europe' program, officially launched with a meeting at OEI, involving 11 consortium institutions. The project aims to promote clean and sustainable energy in Europe and Latin America through high-impact social cooperation. Funded by the European Commission, Energytran focuses on renewable energy development and creating unified public policies and regulations for a fair, sustainable energy transition.
CACTUS: Bridging Europe and Latin America for Sustainable Solar Innovation
CACTUS
CACTUS aims to create a sustainable, bi-regional ecosystem of complementary RIs, enhancing collaboration between Europe and Latin America. By enabling research on solar and photovoltaic technologies suited to diverse climates, CACTUS addresses global energy and climate challenges. We provide R&D tools for developing reliable, bankable, and socially accepted solar technologies, contributing to the green energy transition.
Research Infrastructure Services for Renewable Energy
Innovating Renewable Energy Solutions
RISEnergy advances energy efficiency and reduces energy technology costs, promoting renewables through proactive innovation. We offer a unified access platform for academics, industry, and SMEs, advising on life cycle assessments, ICT, and networking. With over 2,500 days of access to 87 top global facilities, we support research in photovoltaics, solar power, hydrogen, biofuels, offshore wind, ocean energy, integrated grids, and energy storage.

European Energy Research Alliance Joint Programme-Concentrating Solar Power
The overall objective of this JP is to integrate and coordinate the scientific collaboration among the leading European research institutions in CSP in order to contribute to the achievement of the targets initially set by the "Solar Thermal Electricity - European Industrial Initiative" (STE-EII) and, later on, by the SET-Plan.

Solar Facilities for the European Research Area - Third Phase
SFERA III is a Horizon 2020 project funded under the Research Infrastructure Programme. The consortium is coordinated by CIEMAT-PSA and made by a total of 15 partners from 9 EU member countries.
